Yesterday David asked me if I had the Brady Bunch Movie, which naturally I did. So I took it up there and watched it. It's not how I remember it at all .... IT'S BETTER!!! It's so funny when you're old enough to get the funny lil sex jokes. For example, when Jan runs away, Sam (the butcher) come into the kitchen, he's been in Alice's room. When asked what he's doing there he replies "I was ... delivering an order of meat". Later that night David was online and he said he had a very Brady Sequel, Jordan had lent it to him, so naturally, I went up there to watch it and it's just as funny as the first one. Again there is a meat joke involving Sam, Alice and a "special tube steak". I'm now watching it again now, it's the part where Marcia goes to the dance with that guy and Mrs Brady says "What about you, do you have any protection?" to which he replies "Oh, yes ma'am, assorted colours and textures."
So what have I been upto apart from watching the Brady Bunch movies. Well not a whole lot. Basically the play took up most of my January. Having come to the end of it, I realised that I really did enjoy it. Even having to sing wasn't so bad, I think it sounded quite alright on the last day. After I started ignoring Kylie and NOT singing high. If only we'd have the critic come on the last day, it fucking rocked. Although that wouldn't have made a whole lot of sense because then people would have said "wow, that sounds fucking awesome ... pity it's over"
Today dad came home at about 1 cuz he was down this way and he gave me a piece of paper. What is on this piece of paper I hear you ask. Well it says "Dear Kirsty! With Love and Kisses - Keep up the performing, Rachael Beck <3 XXXX" ... Yes, that's right, Rachael Beck, the star of Cabaret and a cast member of "Hey Dad" ... or so I've been told. She was awesome in Cabaret. So I supposed you're wondering how dad got this wonderful piece of paper? Well he was driving Rachael around because she had a meeting with Darinda .... You know, the central market lady, the big black woman. She also has a braiding salon now called "Get Knotted" at the Arkaba Shopping Centre. She said I can go in and get my hair done for free ... but I don't really want my hair done so I'm not going.
I've been playing a lot of xbox lately. I finally got the N64 emulator working on there, so I've been playing zelda and mario 64. I was also addicted to the sims for a while there but I think I'm over that now. Oh, I went mad buying DVDs too, I now have 20, including 5 volumes of Round the Twist, 2 seasons of Sex and the City, 14 movies and I have the first three seasons of Futurama on order, but they wont be arriving until after February 18th. That's ok though, because they were half price.
I've been such a bum lately, I don't really get up till late morning, don't have a shower till about 3 and I spend most of the day bumming around, playing xbox, chatting, watching movies, that sorta thing. On the 5th, I have an interview at Coles Myer, hopefully I'll be able to fit in a job (providing I can get one of course) around studying at Spherion. Which I might add I am stoked about at the moment. Because of when I'm enrolling I will get 20% off the course, making it almost $3k cheaper!!! I'm going to enroll on Monday and then I'll be starting on the 10th. I'm kinda scared though, it'll be hard going from being a bum to being a student again, but I guess I'll be doing something I'm interested in so it wont be TOO bad. I'm just looking forward to the fact that in about a year I'll probably have a full time job.

Writer and director Pratricia Andrews appears to have written a star vehicle for herself.
She portrays Window Twankee in a lacklustre adaption of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp and more or less follows the traditional story but lacks the audience interaction that makes a pantomime so much fun.
Andrews' character, in an outrageous red wig, is by far the liveliest. Hero Aladdin is tentatively played by Nathan Schubert, while Zoe Martin fares slightly better at Princess Shining Pearl.
Eliza Bently does well as the Genie of the Lamp, but the dancing donkey (Sophie Hardy and Mergho Ray) upstage everyone.
The young performers have fun but struggle with lines, songs, pace, volume and dance moves.
Some visuals work well, including the magic carpet ride and the spooks in the haunted cave, but inspired moments are far and few between.
Andrews' grand set designs and the bright costumes by Dorothy Fennell and Joyce Quick are strong points, but neither can save the show.

Dear Mr Lewis,
Firstly ... are you a friend of Pat's, because the way you wrote about her looks to me as though she's your best friend. Her name and star do not EVER belong in the same sentence. Also ... your title contradicts your second last paragraph. Make up your mind whether the carpet sucked or whether it worked well. Actually don't worry about making up your mind, I shall make it for you. We named it the "Tragic Carpet". Even though that title itself is no more correct that magic carpet as it is indeed a wooden ... thingy covered by a red sheet. So it should be called "the poor item which has to survive the weight and fumes of PAT".
Now, I would like to know which performance you attended, my guess is it was Monday's performance which was less than average. Although you really do need to make allowances for the bad script. There's only so much tallent can take care of. I would also like to apologise to those people who have attended the performance and to those who have made bookings. This is not a show I would wish upon my worst enemy. Those of you who haven't come to see and haven't made bookings ........ RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!
Now, as for your opinion of the liveliest character in the play ... If I ever see you in public and for some unexplained reason know who you are ... I will stab you in the fucking face. Onto the audience participation ... you simply came on the wrong day, with the wrong crowd. That's right, it's the crowd's fault that there was a lack of CROWD participation. There were plenty of opportunities to participate, but it's upto the CROWD to PARTICIPATE.
Thankyou for your critique of Opus' production of Aladdin, written by the ever stinky Pat Andrews and directed by the same putrid person. How ever, working with what we had, the people we had and the GODAMN FUCKING SCRIPT we were cursed with, I think we're doing a fucking awesome job. It's a miracle that morale and energy is as high as it is with the way we have been treated during the rehearsal process. Then again, good actors wouldn't show that on stage, the public never knows what goes on back stage. It has been brought to my attention that your review was short ... which it was. ARE YOU SO FUCKING LAZY THAT WE CAN'T HAVE A WHOLE FUCKING REVIEW???? Also the term is FEW and FAR between, not FAR and FEW between. Perhaps I should take your job, I do believe I could do it better and believe me, I'm not biased because I fucking hate this production. OH and one more thing, we are NOT having fun.

Ok, people have been telling me off for not blogging. I shouldn't have blogged so often last year, then people wouldn't expect it. Anyways, here's the first entry of the year. I saw on someone else's blog a summary of their year, it seemed the right thing to do to steal their idea and also do one. So here goes.
January:
Nothing much happened this month I guess. Drove my "new" car a lot, named it oodles because of the number plate (UDL-520). Started what WAS to be my last year of school. Got my first impression of what the people in my grade are like as a collective group ... there isn't a word to describe how stupid some of them are.
February:
Settled in at school, got to know Cindy. She was kewl, she helped me out in Maths and Physics, if it weren't for her, I would have done worse. Dropped out of Maths 2 and started Art which would prove to be my year's biggest challenge and bring the best rewards come the end of the year. For a while I stayed completely ontop of my studies, but it began to slip a bit. Although I did keep up I wasn't doing what I said I would this year.
March:
Crashed my car turning right onto South Road whilst wagging school, on the way to get hair dye for Rachael. In part it was a blessing in disguise, the car was a piece of shit, in reality I was better off without it. It was just good that I crashed it then, not in a more life threatening situation. Although we had some good times in that car, it pissed on everyone's feet in the front passenger seat, it took us to Vinnie's that amazing night .... It was the singing car, if ya got in, ya had to sing. They were good times. A lil bit after I crashed my car, I got my first job. It was at McDonalds in the city and it sucked. Although I enjoyed the money, it was physically and emotionally draining. I was doing long(ish) shifts both days on the weekend. In fact once, I did an 11 hour shift. That one was torture.
April:
My birthday month .... I think this one was un-eventful, apart from my birthday of which I remember nothing .... oh wait, NOW I remember. I went into work, it was Good Friday this year, I worked for 5 minutes and then was asked if I'd like to go home, how could I refuse, it was my birthday after all. Apart from that I don't remember anything eventful that happened this month
May:
If only I had been blogging during this time of year. I worked, I went to school, I didn't really do much else. Life was rather un-eventful, yet again.
June:
School, Sleep, Work ... That sums up this month pretty much.
July:
FINALLY!! I came to my senses and quit my job, made more time for school and sleep.
August:
I think I got my new car this month, at first not much better than the first one, but then we sorted out all the problems with it and now I love it more than life itself. We had to get the carby fixed, dunno what was wrong with it, don't care and then we had to get a new transmission ... I didn't have 2nd or 4th gear, that was a fun one. Goes real nice now, gets me from A to B, is pretty economical, especially when the olds pay for the petrol. The day that I had thought would never come, came. On the 10th of August this year, my nanna passed away. I went to my first funeral and I hated it, I hope I wont have to do it again any time soon.
September:
I STARTED THIS BLOG!! People tried to run us over in Glenelg, my friends and I went through the stress of applying for university courses and lodging SEAS applications ... the most difficult thing was getting them approved by the whore ... I mean principal. Oh well.
October:
The heat was on, School was coming to an end and I had a year of art to catch up on ... I managed to finish all my work on time, although not quite to the standard that I had hoped. I said my name was Lazy McGee and I was right. I did nothing but art work for about 5 weeks. It paid off in the end thank god.
November:
School finished and I didn't know what to do with myself. The feast festival came and went and we saw a few good performances. We had our school formal which was a load of shit, the food was crap and cold by the time we got to it and the people were even worse, not that I expected any more.
December:
Results came, they sucked, I debated what I was going to do, I'm still not sure. It turned out that my best subject was Art ... it would damn well wanna be with all the work I put in at the end. Christmas came, that sucked and then finally, to finish the year off I had a new years eve party at my house.
So there ya have it boys and girls, my year in about that many words =O). Good luck in 2004 everyone, I've heard it's gonna be a damn good year.
