New years is just around the corner
December 29, 2005 9:42 AM

Yeah yeah, I know, I haven't been blogging. So shoot me! ... no please don't I want to make it to my 21st birthday!!

So christmas is over now and it's on to New Years at the end of this week. It's been a long time since I got smashed on NYE, mostly because I'm usually the one driving. In fact, I'm not sure that I've ever actually been drunk on NYE. When I move out I'll have a shin dig at my house on NYE so that I can get smashed. YAY!! I still don't really know what I'm going to do on Saturday night, David has a show on, Leanne and Josh have invited me to where ever they're going whether it's out or to a friend's place, Carly has invited me to Revolution (which will of course have the best music of the lot) and I'd really like to spend the wee hours of the morning on the beach, waiting for the sun to rise. I don't really mind which beach, but one of them. HA, I might even drive down to Victor. That would be a stupidly long way to go for such a thing though.

This is the time of year when we all start thinking about our New Years Resolutions. People usually base theirs on things they've meant to do but just havent, like cleaning out the shed or joining a gym or something. Personally, I think you're just setting yourself up for disappointment, I really don't set my self a NYR because I know I wont do it. If I've meant to do something they I'll do it. I rarely plan things more than a week in advance, that way no one really gets them selves hyped up for anything that I might not end up doing.

This is also the time of year when I have to think about my first blog for the year looking back over 2005. I'm thinking about doing something a little bit different this year, but I wont tell you about it because you'll only end up disappointed when it doesn't come about. A fair bit has happened this year, not just to me, but around the world. The xbox 360 and other "next gen" consoles were announced and xbox released, Live 8 happened (although if it made a difference I have been unable to determine yet), London was attacked by terrorists, New Orleans was flooded, some guy claimed he was cured of HIV and Iraq went to vote last week for their first proper goverment in years. More than 70% of registered voters voted. I think that is a better turn out than we get in Australia. Sure you have to GO to the polls, but you don't actually have to vote, I regret wasting my first vote, but eh, what can you do. I'll do it properly next time.

I started a lot of things this year that I didn't finish, like the comic for example. I got all hyped up about making a living from my new comic. It was a deluded vision to have at that time, perhaps one day it will become a reality, but setting out to make money from the start with something like that is silly because again, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. I think I will eventually start it, but I really need to work on my skills for a bit. My writing is coming along well, still a fair way to go with my series though. I shall try and sit down next week and finish off episode 4. I think I'm going to finish writing them all and then start with the editing, rather than doing it all as I go.

I have next week off and I will be spending the first few days watching NCIS with the lovely Carly and just relaxing ... and of course eating badly as my parents will be away. YAY!! Then I am going back to the Naturopath on Wednesday. I have to get my car looked at and I am going to have a big sort through my room. With any luck I will be able to sell some stuff on eBay and make enough money to cover my xbox 360 and maybe a game or two. On that topic, the hat that I won arrived yesterday, it's a perfect dark zero hat and it's actually better than I was expecting, much better than the cruddy looking Tshirts they're offering anyway. I can't wait for March 2 to roll around.

In fact, I can't wait for January 5 to roll around, because that means new Stargate SG1, I've been doing allright with my Atlantis pick me ups, but it's just not SG1. It helped that Amanda Tapping was in an episode ... and she was wet and naked ... but it's still not SG1. I'm really pleased that they'll be coming back for a tenth season, particularly that they'll be keeping Vala. I think she's a champ, she's such a fox and she knows it! They really haven't had a character like her on before, I guess the closest they've come is hathor, she was great, but she needed drugs to control everyone, Vala just uses raw sex and loads of it. She oozes ... ok, back to reality now. Great bunch of writers, great cast, great crew. I hope it goes on for ever. That said, I don't want it to turn into Star Trek because that show sucks ass in its many different flavours. I would give my right arm for a guest spot on this show, that's the one I write with. I'd also have great difficulty typing with only one hand ...

This will most likely be the last post for the year, so if I don't post again, I hope you guys all "have it large" on Saturday night and enjoy the new year. It's the only way to go.

Christmas Lights
December 23, 2005 12:42 PM

If I bothered with Christmas lights, this is what my house would look like:

Luckily, I don't bother with it.

Sandra
December 22, 2005 8:26 PM

Also guys, here are those pictures of the lovely Sandra Sully promised earlier in the month. I apologise for the delay:

Is anyone else scared?

It's almost christmas and I'm as grumpy as ever about it. This time of year makes me think about the things I meant to do this year that I didn't have the time/energy/non-laziness to do. I think the big one for this year was draw more. I mean, I draw a fair bit at work, but it's not really going anywhere. What I'd really like to do is make money from my art, whether it's web page design, photography, drawing, music, what ever, I feel that I need to make more money. Sure it's greedy, but that's me. How ever, I have nothing on Michael Jordan. I was using Sumble Upon and I found this page of facts. Here's one that makes my head spin, then boil, then cool, then boil again before finally exploding:

Michael Jordan makes more money from Nike each year than all the Nike factory workers in Malaysia combined.

Isn't that the most fucked up thing you're ever heard?

Damn you hot weather!
December 21, 2005 12:37 PM

IT'S WEDNESDAY, YAY!!! WEDNESDAY!!!

This week's Wednesday Wankstain is yesterday's hot weather!! Well done champ! Yesterday I almost died of heat stroke walking to the train station from my office. From sitting in my chair to sitting on the train is a 2 minute journey. Also I have to wear a jumper because I'm sitting right below an airconditioning vent which blows cold air all day, even when it's cold. It fucking pisses me off.

In fact, I think I'll give the award to the air vent as well. STOP BLOWING COLD AIR ON ME DAMNIT, YOU'RE MAKING MY FINGERS ACHE!

Also, this week's award goes to my wisdom teeth which has decided that they will try and make a break for it through my cheeks, they're heading out that way and making my face feel too full and weird. GROW STRAIGHT LIKE NORMAL TEETH YOU IDIOTS.

Topical or tropical?
December 20, 2005 12:21 PM

Tuesday has rolled around once again and it's time for me to be topical. Personally, I'd rather be tropical today, you know, on some distant island, sipping a daiquiri being fanned by a cabana boy, but we can't always get what we want.

While I have had all week to think about it, I really don't have anything to be topical about and I actually wonder if enough people are reading to make it worth going to all the trouble of thinking about it all week and spending the time to type it up while I'm here at work. A few of you comment, but really not that many. I want some intelligent debate damnit!! GET FIRED UP!

All I'm hearing are the echoes of my own words. I heard them the first time, I don't need to hear them again!

XBOXEN

ok guys, here are a few photos to start off your week!!

The end, possibly?
December 18, 2005 6:04 PM

Ok, I've made it to what I believe is the last boss in this game, I haven't really played it all that much since I made it there because I have found a new addiction ... Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. You guys might have seen the ads on TV recently. It really is as awesome as it looks, you swap between squad members and it WHIZZES you into their POV. It's so amazingly cool. Also the single player mode has a ranking system, I'm currently at Sergant 1st class ... GO ME!! Next is Master Sergant and I'm only about 6 or seven stars off it, in fact, I might go and work on some of the earlier missions again.

Prince of Persia
December 15, 2005 9:55 PM

SUCCESS!!! I'm about 80% through the game, Ida been finished by now if it weren't for those damn twins!! I know a lot of other people are having trouble with them too. I didn't play yesterday, I skipped it to have a break and I sat down tonight and defeated them on the second go. The chariot race took a few tries, but once I sat myself down into my bean bag, I was in the zone. I'm into the last chapter and the next level is called the labyrinth ... which worries me deeply.

I'm really, really looking forward to Perfect Dark Zero on the xbox 360, there's been a lot of hype about it and I just hope it lives up to expectations. I'm thinking about taking the Thursday and Friday off for the launch of the 360, perhaps longer if I have to go down there and wait ... I'm prepared to camp out ... oh yes. Although it's colonnades ... so that's a bit of a scary thought. I'd almost rather camp out in bear infested woods! Wish me luck for completing Price of Persia this weekend!!

Well I did it. I went and pre-ordered the xbox 360 =OD and the VIP pack. I figured out, that if I go and put $100 on it every fortnight, it'll be just about paid off in time! I'm going to be selling my origina play station, it comes with a controller, 6 games and a memory card. If anyone's intrested in buying it, make me an offer!

Right now I'm watching a Rankin and Bass cartoon, the jack frost one ... it's a bit crap. Nothing really compares to Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys. I think I'll have another go at this horrible boss on Prince of Persia the Two Thrones.

Proof that Optusnet is a slut!! It's whoring itself all over torrent sites:

Gamer card
December 14, 2005 3:37 PM

*GEEK* I'd like to draw everyone's attention to my "Gamer Card" at the left. I've decided I'm going to bite the bullet and go and pre-order an xbox 360 and get a VIP pack.

This week's Wednesday Wankstain is again, not just one person ... it's a whole suburb. Congratulations CRONULLA!! Well done on rioting this week, top job boys. I say boys because that's who it is. It's young men who hang around the beach, throwing beer bottles and drinking. See alcohol is a problem kids!

Get over yourselved kids, be nice to one another. There's no need to fight.

The Media
December 13, 2005 12:34 PM

Topical Tuesday again kids!! This week, it's the media!! Now I can hear you groan already, another fat chick complaining about the media's image of what a woman should look like. This isn't my quibble ... today.

The media (mostly the American media, you know ... Fox) can dictate what ever they want and people will take it. No matter what it is. I'll present you with a couple of examples: Bush being elected the first time. It just so happened that his cousin was working at Fox that night and decided to make the announcement that Bush had won Florida, thus winning the election. Now the other stations went "SHIT!! They know something we don't know yet, we have to get this out there right away so that we don't seem behind the ball!" and so all the other stations reported the same thing. That Bush had won Florida, thus the presidency.

For his induction, what ever they wanna call it, people came out in droves ... to throw shit at his car. Usually they do some walk down that road, they stuffed good ol' George W back in the car and rolled him down the road instead.

Way to side track there Kirsty, anyway, back to the media. If Fox say that the Americans are going to be bombed then they're all going to believe it, they're going to go out and buy a bomb shelter and rations and gas masks and all this other unnecessary crap, just because Fox said so. If it weren't for the media and the fear mongering, the American economy would fall apart. The wars that they wage on "terrorism" and other such things keep their country running.

Sure Fox bring us great programs like the Simsons and ... well no that's about it, but they're an evil conglomerate and there's no denying it.

I'd also like to turn your eyes and ears to the tabloids in the UK. The vultures with cameras and pens. They'll twist and turn a story till you can barely recognise what is actually the truth. Personally I blame the paparazzi for Princess Di's death, not that I'm a big royal fan or anything. It's just my opinion. Sure the truth can be boring a lot of the time, which is why you report on something other than movie stars' lives! If I want to read fiction, I'll go and get a novel from the library. I don't read all those stupid magazines like WHO and Woman's Day and all that shit, I read magazines relating to my industry and the industries I'd like to be in. Sure I read some entertainment magazines, but not the sleezy gossip magazines. I want to hear about what people are doing in movies that's new and fresh, that new piece of technology that is going to revolutionise the way that visual effects are done, or that new sound technique. I don't want to hear about Ben and Jen and Jen and Brad and Ang and Lesbo#1.

... Maybe this post belong on Fulla' Shit Friday.

xbox or sleep? Why can't I do both?
December 8, 2005 1:45 PM

It looks like Thoughtful Thursday was a one off. I have no thoughts this Thursday. Well I do, but they're all along the lines of "god I'm tired!" "I want to go to bed." "Is it time to go home yet?" "Can't sleep tonight, I have to play xbox, lots of xbox ..." "Ah fuck it, I'll just go to sleep"

I have no doubt that I'll fall asleep on the train tonight. I'm trying to read War of the Worlds, but it's a trifle boring. What else should I read?

Wankstains
December 7, 2005 9:32 AM

YAY!!! It's time for the Wednesday Wankstain!!! This week's wankstain ... actually, there's three of them. The three people who wrote this week's episode of Queer as Folk. You can find their names on Wiki.

Now why them? Well, after four years of solid good writing, they seem to have decided that it is a good idea to forget all about how the characters are supposed to act, what their personalities are and such. We had actually wondered if they had employed new writers, that's how bad it is. I don't know how these people can live with themselves! I know what you're all thinking. If you don't like it, just stop watching. Well I would, but I feel loyal to the show you see. I feel that I owe it to the show to watch it till the end, so persevere I shall!! There are only two episodes left, I've lasted eleven already, two more wont kill me ... or will they?

In my opinion, it would have been better to kill all the characters off and just film the scenery. I know I'm sounding all high and mighty, just because I like to call myself a writer now. Who am I to be critical of other people's work? Well it's not just me, everyone I've spoken to has the same opinion. They have NOT stayed true to the characters, which if you ask me, should be a pretty simple thing to do if you've been writing them for four years!!!

If next week's episode is crap, I predict that we will have carry over champions!! Just like on Sale of the Century.

Christmas
December 6, 2005 10:54 AM

Well kids, it's that time of the week again. THAT'S RIGHT!!! Topical Tuesday!!

This week's subject is Christmas. Personally, I hate Christmas, I hate the whole family/community spirit, I hate all the decorations and although I will go, I hate the Lights at Lobethal. Every year without fail, I feel depressed when we are there, no matter who I'm with.

Now, my hate of Christmas could well have something to do with my hate of Children in all their forms. The fact that they are freed from their prisons, also known as schools for 6 weeks and I still have to work is ... I just don't have the words for it. The older ones with 'tude spend their time terrorising those of us who have to work for a living in town, by crowding Rundle Mall. The little ones are dragged on Christmas shopping expiditions and most of the time end up screaming to be released from the clutches of the evil one from which they spawned.

I hate the ads on TV "Hey kids, make your mum buy you this for Christmas." "Great Christmas gift idea." "Beat the Christmas rush!" "Don't get caught short this Christmas.". Shutup, we know it's Christmas, we've known since you put decorations up in your shop 3 months ago.

I do like giving gifts, I like the challenge of trying to find something for each person that they will like. I like the people who are easy to buy for. I'm not all that into receiving gifts and I know what you're saying "Oh bullshit, you love getting presents". That's true, I do like getting presents, what I don't like is feeling that I have to pretend to like something if the gift that someone gives me is utter shit. They say it's the thought that counts, but it's totally not. No matter how much thought someone puts into something a shit gift is a shit gift. I know I'm guilty of giving a few of those in my time and anyone who says they've never given a bad gift is full of shit.

I don't like the fact that at Christmas we're encouraged more than ever to give to charity. If you ask me, we shouldn't need an excuse like Christmas to give to charity. If you're going to do it, it should be because you want to, not because you feel guilty that you're going to have a better meal that someone on Christmas day and that you can afford better gifts. Sure it makes a difference to their lives, but if you give all year, people's lives will be improved all year, you might help them get a job, or a place to live then they can help themselves at Christmas time.

Most of all, I hate Christmas carols!! I hate fucking Carols by Candle Light. Whether it's the one in Elder park or the one in the domain that they televise with Santa and The Wiggles, it's all crud. They're all about fucking White Christmas that, Dashing Through the Snow This. IT DOESN'T SNOW HERE MOTHER FUCKERS!!!

I feel bad for all those religions that don't celebrate Christmas, such as ... well most of them. They have to put up with all the Christmas shit in the shops, Christmas parties at work, food they normally buy coming in special Christmas packaging. It's fucked up. We say we're multicultural, but we don't recognise ANY other religions at Christmas time. Well done society, well done. I think it would be interesting to rotate it each year. Like the Olympics, although without the bidding, because that's just unfair. I think a Buddhist Christmas would rock. There would be no gift giving, everyone would be perfectly calm for the four day weekend. Personally, that's the only good thing I find about Christmas, the four day weekend.

Finally, onto the biggest bane of my existance ... THE LIE THAT IS SANTA CLAUSE!!! I can't believe how massive this lie is. It's bigger than fucking Watergate. Year after year children are lied to, it is unacceptable. I'm going to be starting an organisation to be known as COPAS. What does this stand for? I'll tell you: Coalition of People Against Santa. We'll have T-shirts and Mugs and everything. So spread the word Children, we're not gonna take it anymore! NO MORE LIES! NO MORE LIES! The whole fucking world is in on it. On Christmas eve Sandra Sully gets on the news and talks to some bloke in Air Traffic Control about Santa's arrival and this SHIT about the sky being red because of Rudolph's nose ... hasn't anyone looked at the sky at sunset on any other night? Young minds are pliable, don't fuck them up with the web of lies that is Christmas.

On the topic of Sandra Sully, she was wearing the most attrocious top on the late news last night, I took screen shots which I will try and post when I get home.

Naked Bra
December 4, 2005 4:09 PM

Well done to me for not realising it was the start of a new month and updating the site accordingly. Anyway, all is fine now. So onto new monthly business.

Funny searches for November:
Naked Bra (new oxy moron?)
i think brother sister can have sex together also fucking naked (do you now?)
lisa mcune (DAMN YOU AND YOUR POTATO FACTORY!!)
naked oranges having sex (well what ever floats your boat)
sandra bullock naked look alike (yes, that's me)
vaginacologist (I like it, that may go in the Medusinary)
my sisters naked ass (hunny you're not gonna find that shit on my website)

This weekend has been rather constructive, I've managed to throw together a webpage with a functioning PHP form to submit feedback to an email address. I've also upgraded some software on my xbox and managed to get the streaming working correctly. I wouldn't have bothered, but I couldn't play the downloaded version of Da Kath and Kim Code that I got. So I spent most of the day trying to get the software to work and it to detect the fact that I was trying to stream to it.

Some mosquito decided to have a feast behind my knee and it's insatiably itchy and annoying. I have to wonder, if I cut them off will the muscle underneath still be itchy? An would the pain be worth the relief, assuming there is any?

Corn chips
December 1, 2005 11:17 AM

Today is Thoughtful Thursday. Get ready to let me blow your mind:

If you can't digest corn, can you digest pop corn and corn chips?
