Digital poems
May 9, 2006 7:01 PM

I wrote a poem, do you like it?

Little boy Puce, come blow your Anus, the Cat's in the Bathroom, the Dog's in the Cabbage.Where is the boy who looks after the Rat? He's under the House, Pooping!

This was my task at TAFE today, useful isn't it? It's actually more useful than it seems. It came from a form where you put in such and such and it outputs it using PHP ... go me! Anyway the Panorama students weren't here last week, so it's a repeated class. He's having those of us who were here last week do this task. Now I would have been finished log ago, had I actually been trying to use the correct web server. We have two on our machines here, one running IIS and the other running Apache. We need the Apache one to run PHP and the WEB1 students need IIS to run ASP. They can't run concurrently, so I have trouble remembering which is which because one's folder is called www with a webroot folder and the other is just called wwwroot. You can see where I would get confused. Further to that every time I come in I have to stop the IIS service and start the Apache service, luckily I know how, or else I'd be far off.

I'm pretty stoked today because my code worked first time, I spent a lot of time on trouble shooting, but it was to do with the server, not my code which is awesome. It means I'm actually getting my head around this crap, all these dollar signs and under scores, it's more than enough to do your head in. I'm actually enjoying it, although I have to wonder if I would be enjoying it if I were doing Javascript at the same time as I had been planning to do. One scripting language at a time I think. I don't know how much longer Vince is going to talk for, but I hope it's not going to be very long because I'm fairly bored and hungy .... hungry also. See you next time bloggerinos!!

P.S. I finished Tomb Raider last night and my gamer card hit 1000 which I'm also stoked about. The game was pretty easy, no hard boss at the end which is kind of good because I just wanted to see the story. Tomb Raider was fairly similar to Prince of Persia ... apart from not being able to turn back time which by the end I was still not used to, I'd fall off and right away try and hit the left trigger .... nothing would happen. Most disappointing. They've definately set themselves up for a sequel or six. Not worth a buy, but definately rent it and play it. I finished it in about 8.5 hours and the story was most enjoyable.
