Wednesday night was awesome!!! Carly and I went to see the Mountain Goats. They are the bestest band ever! Every song has a story, usually a hilarious one. I decided on taking my 400D and it was the right choice, I got some great photos, hooray for manual settings!!! I've done all the cropping and shrinking ready to Flickr them, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I would have done it last night, but I was busy trying to get my new hard drive to work ... no luck, but I now have NEW knoweledge that should enable me to fix it. YAY!!
So anyway, back to the mountain goats, we got there and the cute boy who Carly asked to the Cranker on Friday turned up with someone we think may have been his girl friend, he didn't see very friendly toward her though, so they might have been brother and sister ... we're just not sure.
Then disaster struck, Carly spotted Lauren and freaked the fuck out. I went through various techniques of trying to get Carly to chill the fuck out, but she has a mental disease and there's just no calming a crazy person. I quickly forgot about Lauren being there as soon as the Goats of the Mountain came out, they were that awesome. I sang along, I bopped slightly and I got angry at the man standing next to Carly tapping on some big black wooden case of some sort. I came so close to punching him. It was also hideously hot, on the up side though, they opened the exit door at the side of stage where Carly and I were standing, so we had a bit of a breeze. It was still slightly unpleasant.
After the show, we went and had McFlurries. Which reminds me of a funny story that Jacqui told me. When she used to work at McDonalds, someone once came and asked her for a McFluffy .... I know, hilarious. Anyway, Carly and I went and ate our McFluffies at Veale Gardens ... yes, the beat. We commented on how the restaurant owners might feel about operating in the middle of a beat, I figured they deserved it for opening there.
