So this morning was fun, I got up at 7 am to call optus at 7:30 am as they open at 8 am (I assumed EST) to unfuck my phone bill, only to find it's 8 am in your local time zone. So I spent 30 minutes sweating about getting the fucking transaction reversed. I got through at 8 to someone who decided I didn't want an authorization reversal, I wanted a refund (not the case). She advised it was going to take 7 - 10 business days to get the funds put back, I said that my bank told me the request needs to go through in the next 3 business days or else it wont be an authorisation reversal, it will need to be a refund. So I call the bank again to confirm this and I get passed around a couple of times and finally get the answer I'm looking for from some very nice people who know what they're talking about. So I called back Optus to get them to unfuck what they'd done and do an authorization reversal instead of a refund. I basically confused the woman I spoke to, so she tranferred me through to her manager who actually seemed to know what I was talking about and it sounds like he was actually going to do an authorization reversal properly. He's also going to follow it up next week which will be good too. Basically the outcome is that I will get the funds back some time this week, any time between now and Friday. Hopefully I will get the credit back on my account as well, or else I will not be able to use my credit card for a while.
