To any one who has yet to see hair spray, stand up right now, get your keys, gather your spare change and go and see it. Right now, stop reading and leave at once. Just remember to pee before you get in the cinema and don't drink too much while you're in there.
It's the best recent musical I've seen. The last one was Chicago (Disney shit doesn't count) and that was pretty good, but this was fucking hilarious. I was so close to pissing my pants it wasn't funny. I haven't seen the original hairspray, but I will endeavour to do so soon. John Waters has a cameo at the start that is very fitting.
Dancing, singing, John Travolta in a dress, what more could you want? Tracey Turnblad is the fat girl we all want to be. Even though Zac Efron is probably a prick, we all want just that one kiss from Prince Charming.
Once I've seen it, I'll let you know how the original compares to the new release.
