See you all in 2008!
That is all.

So I've just upgraded to the new version of movable type. It's very nice. Very different to version 3.5, much more .... web 2.0 haha. It seems so much nicer and friendlier, not so developery, more bloggery. Look at me, inventing words, etc.
So I managed to track down a Wii Classic controller today, thank you EB Games. I got the last one go me! I also picked up a Game Cube controller ... well a third party copy, for $20. It's blue, I like it. I'm now downloading Super Mario 64 on Virtual Console, it's cost me $15. It downloaded very quickly, I'm pretty impressed. The only slightly odd thing is that the classic controller connects to the wiimote in the same way that the nunchuck does. So it's kiiiiinda wireless.
Now, everyone go out and buy a Wii, but good luck finding one!

So my blogging has been some what ... absent. I'm really sorry. I'm just really not getting the urge to write all that often any more. I've no desire to stop completely and close the site, but I guess it's just not high on my list of things with which to pass my time. Maybe I've not been as sad lately. Being sad makes me want to write I guess, not necessarily good things, but things. Writing sometimes makes me sad because I reflect when I'm writing and I have to think about recent events and how they might have made me feel. Sometimes it's best not to dwell.
So with that, moving on. I've done a fair few things recently, not exciting things, but still things. I've been playing Super Mario Galaxy on Wii and I've just finished gathering all 120 stars as Mario. Now I get to play the game all over again as Luigi ... I'm not sure if I'm going to bother yet because some of the levels got me pretty damn frustrated, but I'll probably give it a go. It was mostly good fun, some parts were pretty shit, but over all a good game. Definitely worth playing. It would be much easier playing with two people, because the second player can collect star bits and hold enemies still.
Yesterday I went with David and Jordan to see the Golden Compass. It was pretty good, until you get to the end. It goes something like this:
boy: are we going home now?
girl: no, we have to go and do this, and then this and then something else
*boy and girl fall asleep*
*roll credits*
Now, where the fuck is the other half of my movie? Tell me that, where the hell is it? And where the hell was Daniel Craig? He was in it for a total of 3 minutes. I was most disappointed. What WAS good though was the ice bear fight ... FUCK YES! On top of that, it contained pretty much 50% of the cast of lord of the rings. Presumably, they've kept them lying around after their 7 year stint in NZ and decided to put them to work. That's right! Make them earn their keep!
I also saw Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium last week, that was pretty good. Although predictable, it was really hard for me to not like it considering it had Natalie Portman in it. The young boy gave me the shits, but I liked his hats. He had possibly the most annoying face since Dakota Fanning and her fugly teeth. Godamn those teeth are hideous, if you can even call them teeth. Uh ... anyway, back to the movie. So yeah, predictable, but still worth a watch. I think I'd buy it when it comes out on DVD. It will probably be around my birthday though ... so hint hint!!
Speaking of presents, guess what I got for Christmas ... Go on, guess!
Give up?
A toaster, yup, I'm a lucky girl.
It's a nice toaster though. It has a matching kettle, which I assume I'll be getting for my birthday. I also got an elephant table (thanks Jordan!) and various DVDs (read:Harry Potter). It was pretty good, I made Christmas in to such a non-event. I ALMOST made it to work without my parents getting up, but unfortunately I was a little bit too loud. Mum liked the clock I got her which was good (IKEA ftw!!). I did all my Christmas shopping on one day in one shop, thanks JB HiFi!!
Working on Christmas day was teh awesomes! We had nibbles and cake and wraps and then more nibbles and cake and wraps. I worked for about 2 hours or so and then played Guitar Hero 3 and Wii all day. I even stayed late, but then I got bored, so I went home, but not before picking up my Christmas dinner at McDonalds.
At work, we had a Christmas and 6 month celebratory celebration for our team, it was good. We went to a pizza restaurant and had some awesome food and drinks. We had some good conversation and some good laughs. There was a short conversation in which someone was trying to remember the name of an author, I piped up with the correct answer and then half an hour later, the same thing happened with the tittle of a book. The only clue I had for that one was conch, the answer was Lord of the Flies. I was on fire with the whole literature thing, go me! I looked so smart, but really, it's only because I watch a lot of TV. In fact, my saving grace on the author was a Michael Palin documentary I had watched where he retraced the steps of Hemmingway. It was quite good really.
This talk of documentaries then brought us on to the topic of a MONUMENTAL documentary series called Planet Earth. I've just got my hands on the DVDs and I've watched the first two episodes on the first disc of 5. This shit is amazing. It's narrated by David Attenborough ... as all good documentaries are. It was 5 years in the making and has put in to action some amazing technology. Any way you can, you MUST get yourselves a copy of these DVDs, you will simply be blown away. I can only fathom how good these would be on HD, at this stage, I'm stuck in Normal D.

So, I'm pretty sure I've worked out the root of all my issues. I can't make decisions on my own, I need another party to be involved so that I can bounce ideas off them, etc. The problem with this is that I can't make any decisions about my life, because there is no other party.

So usually when I blog, I say that not a lot has happened, but big things are on their way.
I'm going to buy a house ... well, a unit anyway. Today I got pre-approved for a loan, so we're under way. I actually put in an offer on a place on Sunday, but they went for a cash offer =O(
So I'm looking for furniture and white goods, etc if anyone knows anyone who's either giving away furniture, or selling for cheap, let me know, I want in! I'm mostly looking for couches I think. Leave me comments, furniture, related or not.
Also, it's a big day for Australia, Rudd has ratified Kyoto, fuck yeah! There's no going back now. Thanks Kev.
