Glasses, Toilet Paper and a Gnome
April 25, 2008 10:23 AM

So yesterday was the day ... the day I became a home owner. That's right kids, I finally found people willing to accept my offer. I suspect had they not been in a bit of a hurry, they wouldn't have gone for it, but let's not dwell on that, because I HAS A PLACE TO LIVES!!

It's a 2 bedroom unit with a little back yard, it should be just big enough for my dog. Mum picked up the keys for me yesterday because I had to work and we all headed round there at 9 pm. I only took the essentials, you know, glasses for the champagne, toilet paper and the garden gnome that Adam gave me for my birthday last year. He was most useful in propping open the garden gate, thanks Adam!

I was pleased to find the power was still on, apparently it was only on because the meter is inside and they couldn't get to it to turn it off. Oh well. Having not moved before, I didn't know that you could organise these things to be connected before you move in.

I'll be moving furniture in tomorrow and I'll head around there tonight to do some cleaning. I've already had a spider incident. Luckily, Russell was there to kill it. Thanks Russell!

Given that I can't live without an internet connection I wont be officially moving in for a little while, I'm getting a naked DSL service which could take a number of weeks to hook up. So official moving date is yet to be determined. I'm also considering painting and I should probably do that before I move in.

Is she for real?

Only in America
April 3, 2008 11:03 AM

Only in the US would primary school children plot to tie up and stab their teacher for telling ONE of them off for standing on a chair ....
