OH GOD WHY IS IT SO HOT!
January 29, 2009 9:54 AM

So yesterday was the last post from the blog that wasn't.

Here's a youtube video for a song I heard on Triple J the other day that I haven't heard in ages:

Today is my last day at work before I go on leave, I've got lots of work to finish off, it's fail.

I literally have no one to share this with:

Go read that article, laugh, then come back and read this:

Thank god it's Fri ... oh wait, it's not
March 20, 2008 9:52 PM
I know it's easter and everyone's excited, but some of us have to work over the long weekend, so shut the fuck up.

Today felt like Friday in so many ways. We had a bit of a "going away"for our team leader today because he's leaving us for another department. We all got together in a meeting room and drank some beer, one of our favourite pass times. Beer seems to bring us all together. We laughed about some of the things that happened at our Christmas dinner and made fun of those who made themselves look stupid on that day.

The city was incredibly busy, with people getting in some last minute shopping before EVERYTHING CLOSES FOR GOOD FRIDAY. The fact that you can't buy alcohol on Good Friday is fucking bull shit. Fuck Jesus and what ever he did on this day, I want some damn beer! Anyone being prevented from buying beer on a long weekend deserves a hug, thus, I demand you all hug me at once ... with beer.

Today also felt like Friday because of the way that I rescheduled work. Generally we have trouble contacting people on weekends, more so on long weekends. Tuesday is going to be very busy indeed. There was an aura about the people in town that felt very much like a Friday, very relaxed and yet rushing around at the same time.

Lastly, everyone should look at this Photo Set* because it is le amazing. Enjoy and have a safe Easter with much chocolate eating, after all, it's the reason for the season.

*Photo set is gone, unsure what photo set it was.

Here's some advice for you ...
January 27, 2009 9:09 PM

Don't wear a Gstring to the beach. Don't ask me how I know that, just don't do it.

So to change the subject:

Wrong Town
March 19, 2008 9:29 PM
I'm not sure how man of you are aware of this, but I'm here today to tell you that in Canada, people buy their milk in bags. Those bags then go in a milk jug where the corner is chopped off so as to make a spout. I know, I was scared too when I found out about this. I found this video on youtube giving a demonstration:

I take no responsibility for anyone who has a nightmare as a result of this video.

Happy invasion day everyone!
January 26, 2009 8:50 AM

That's right, it's that time of year again. Good ol' Invasion Day. Free parking in the city and double time and a half at work, what more could you want? Pizza, that's what I want. Free pizza for being at work on a PH, that would be rockin'. I suppose I'll have to make do with free coffee though.

The other thing it is today, is Triple J's Hottest 100. I meant to vote, but I forgot, I was busy procrastinating. Oh well. I've got it on at work here today, hopefully I wont have to turn it down or off at any stage today. I can't think of what my favourite song from 2008 was. It was a pretty damn big year though.

It appears the next day on the blog that wasn't has three posts. I don't think I've ever posted three times in a day on this blog.

This just in:

As predicted, still awake and it's after midnight. More updates as they come to hand ...

Mission: Complete!
March 18, 2008 12:11 PM
Nine hours of sleep were successfully attained last night. I feel much better than I did at this time yesterday, I was willing the minutes to pass faster so that it would be lunch time. Not eating anything for breakfast was perhaps the biggest mistake.

There was much breakfasting today, as will there be tomorrow. I shall feast upon pop tarts which I have been told I should be able to locate today. I've recently been disappointed when trying to partake of pop tarts, they're not actually sold in normal supermarkets any more.

There was also some tooth scraping today, after the breakfasting and I can tell you it was much less pleasant. I haven't visited the dentist in about two years. The reason for this is when I was due for my check up last, I'd just had my wisdom teeth out. I was SO sick of people sticking their hands in my mouth and poking things with sharp implements. I enjoy going to the dentist about as much as I would enjoy removing my own kidney with a cucumber.

Today the dentist and his assistant talked about the recent search for the boat that went down off the coast of WA in WWII. Apparently it was taken out by a German ship that was posing as an innocent cargo ship and then went all OMG IMA KILL YOU!! In the end, they both sank. The German ship was found ages ago, but no one ever found our ship, until yesterday (according to the dentist anyway). This conversation then made its way through conspiracy theories and to Princess Di. Then on to how Charles should have married Camilla in the first place, never Di.

It was so boring, that had it not been for the hideous scraping sound of metal on tooth, I may have just fallen asleep.

SUCCESS!
March 18, 2008 8:19 PM
Pop tarts were obtained and partaken of. The result was a lovely sugar high ... good thing I went to the dentist before I ate them.

Outcome of this weekend: NOTHING!
January 25, 2009 7:33 PM

I've pretty much done a grand total of nothing, except I did go out for dinner last night, had a nice steak, it was big. Oh! and I cleaned out one tub on wheels today, so I can fit them all under my bed now.

Just not enough
March 17, 2008 8:18 PM
The results of my experiment are in: a human cannot successfully ensure an eight hour work day on two hours sleep and no breakfast. Now you may think that this would be a piece of cake, if only! If only I had a piece of cake, then I might have made it. Alas, there was no cake and I hit the wall some time around two pm. I had to spend the last two or so hours flicking between tabs in my browser pretending to work while I sat comatose attempting not to snore or dribble.

The aim for this evening is to obtain many more hours sleep, although the way these things go, I'll end up being awake until after midnight. The reason for this, is that I am retarded, completely and utterly retarded. I don't appear to be able to sleep at the appointed times, even when I'm incredibly tired.

The wind is supposed to turn this evening, so it should be cooler and thus easier to sleep this evening. Another sleepless night will surely result in certain death.

10 ... yeah, you read it right, 10!
January 23, 2009 11:27 AM

My iPod crashed on the way home from work last night and the shuffle started. It made me a very sad panda. At least now I can have some new music on my iPod. I got to about 6987 I think before the hideous event.

To help ease the pain, here's another post from that other blog:

Failure, how sweet thy fragrance ...
March 17, 2008 12:36 AM
It's now about half an hour in to the day on which I return to work. Along with this, comes the need to wake up at 5:30 am to catch the bus. Given that this time is less than 5 hours away and I'm not yet tired, I foresee many cups of coffee tomorrow and much complaining.

I have unfortunately failed in my quest to partake of the complete 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1. As a result, there will be much bloodshed. I apologise to all those who lose loved ones in the days coming. I made a valiant effort, but I feel I let the team down today when I left the house, ventured out for McDonalds and dared to indulge in a different TV show.

Hopefully I can get some sort of sleep tonight, or tomorrow will not be full of coffee, it will be full of biting the heads off of bats. We all know that no one wins when that starts happening.

Today's post from the anti blog:

Insanity on two wheels
March 15, 2008 12:51 PM
I have no idea how these guys managed to do this without dying. I can barely ride my bike in a straight line, let alone this!

What time do you call this?!?1
January 21, 2009 8:10 AM

Posting before work? Why yes I am! It used to be that I started at 8 am, now I'm still trying to wake up at 8 am. It also used to be that I worked Tuesday to Saturday. I liked it, I got used to it. THEN THEY WENT AND FUCKING CHANGED IT ON ME =O( Now I work Monday to Friday 10 - 6. I hate this shift, it's so awkward.

Anywho, on to more important things, here's today's post from the blog that wasn't.

Most deserving
March 14, 2008 5:14 PM
As this week draws to a close, so do my three weeks of much needed leave. As of this Monday, I'll be back at work. It's not that I hate my job, it's just that ... I hate my job.

During my three weeks, I've spent the majority of this time watching DVDs. I'm pretty sure I deserve some sort of DVD watching award for my commitment. I would have a fantastic acceptance speech prepared in which I would thank the characters who have helped me on this path; Colonel O'Niell, Sydney Prescott, Cindy Campbell, Carie Bradshaw, I could go on for ever.

With little over two days remaining, I'll be committing my efforts to reaching the end of Stargate SG-1. I'm currently half way through season seven and I'm having some doubts about whether I can make it or not. I'm not ready to give up yet, lives are at stake here.

Okay, maybe not lives, but certainly bragging rights. That is of course if I am able to separate my ass from the chair it has been growing in to since I left work on that Wednesday. It seems so long ago.

6791! We're getting closer!
January 20, 2009 9:56 AM

So when I went on leave last year, I tried to start a new blog, where I made an effort to ... write better. I only made 10 entries and it's damn ugly, but I figured I'll post them here.

So here's the first one:

Flipping birds with pokey tongues
March 13, 2008 3:50 PM
Mum walked in to hand me the DVD that had arrived for me today in the mail and as I frequently do, I poked my tongue out at her. She took offence to this and refused to hand over my mail, how dare she! She tells me that she was always taught that poking your tongue out was disrespectful. I graciously suggested that she get with the times and informed her that flipping the bird is disrespectful, not poking out of the tongue.

She looked at me with a furrowed brow because she didn't understand, so I provided her with a demonstration.

I'm not sure where my mail is now ...

That's all for now, tune in tomorrow for the next exciting installment of ... THE BLOG THAT WASNT!

Things I plan to do while I'm on leave for the month of February ...

Oh the Huge Manatee!!
January 16, 2009 2:14 PM

So I put all my computer parts in the new case, turned it on and for what ever reason, my SATA ports decided not to work. That made me a sad Panda. So I couldn't get at my data for what ever reason, but I could at least boot up my PC and try and fix the issue. Several hours later, no love. Drastic times call for drastic measures, fuck it, I'm gonna go buy new parts.

So now, I have -
One of these:

With:

And some of this:

Oh, and one of these:

I didn't get the processor I really wanted, but this will be more than sufficient for now =OD

So anyways, I start putting it together, make a few mistakes, but manage to get it all together and switched on, get windows installed and now the displays are causing me trouble. So much so that I'm considering installing Vista ... yep, I'm scared.

Also, progress report: 6664, I am a listening machine.

6567 Hells yeah!
January 14, 2009 3:02 PM

I ordered my new PC case yesterday, it should arrive some time today I hope although mum was supposed to message me when it did and I've heard nothing so far =O(

This is what I'm getting:

Isn't it nice?

So now I need some nice hardware to go in it. Except that one is going to be my file server box. There's six slots in the SATA pcb board, so I could potentially connect up 9 TB there with 6 1.5 TB drives and then I have the two onboard and 4 further SATA ports in the PC now. So I could go up to 18 TB if I had the money for the drives ... which I of course don't. I'm pretty sure that then, I would never run out of space. Particularly since I delete stuff once I have it on DVD. Right now I have just over 2 TB over 5 drives, I NEEEEED MOAAAAR. I also need a back up server, which will essentially be just another crap computer with big hard drives and a small case. It'll only get switched on once a week. I'm kind of excited now that I have all this shit planned, I just don't have the money to go through with it all right now.

And I was doing so well ...
January 11, 2009 2:13 PM

I blogged like 3 days in a row! How good was I? Yeah was, now, not so much.

So Thursday night was a big one. I had Friday booked off for Shutzenfest, but I ended up booking my car in to get serviced and Adam had to work that day anyway, so David and he came round on Thursday night and we got to drinking and talking and before we knew it, we're shit faced and it's some stupid hour of the morning. I chucked a few times and all three of us were a bit worse for wear. In the morning, the table looked like this:

Yesterday was the shittenfaced, I haven't missed one since I've been old enough to drink. =OD Having said that I haven't actually GOT shit faced yet. I was planning to this year, but after Thursdays effort, I really didn't feel like it at all. I really like the food as well, so it's all good, I had lots of fun, here's some photos.

Doesn't Chris look lovely

I think this picture pretty much sums up Schutzenfest ...

This is Chris, he works in the circus

This is David trying to take a photo of Jacui's Jiney

YAY! It's Jacqui and John!

We were sitting directly in a flight path

They had a misting tent which is where we met up with everyone. When I called Chris, I was sure he said "Fisting tent" but what ever.

David, pretending to be a Gorilla

JACQUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

So that pretty much sums up this weekend, got shit faced, got my car serviced, slept a lot, felt like shit, cleaned up a bit, ate some pizza and now here we are. Sunday afternoon, waiting for other drunkards to wake up to perhaps go to the beach. This weekend was a winner.

6102 FASTERRRRRRR!!!
January 3, 2009 9:10 AM

I watched Baby Mama last night, I'm all about Tina Fey at the moment. Before Baby Mama, I finished watching season 1 of 30 Rock, oh god it's so good. The bad thing is, I've been watching season 3 as it's been coming out, so I've got a big gap and I hadn't actually seen season 1 at all before I started season 3. I suppose I only have myself to blame for that though.

I'll be trying to get through season 2 as quickly as possible once I get my hands on it. The seasons don't take too long to watch, I watched season 1 in about 2 sittings. Perhaps I'm just a master TV watcher ... If only I could get paid for it!

5999!!
January 2, 2009 11:34 AM

This Year by the Mountain Goats from their album The Sunset Tree. This was such a big song for me, it began my love affair with the Mountain Goats. Seems a fitting time for it to play really, I'm fairly confident that this year, 2009 wont be as massive as 2008 was for me, but you never can tell I guess.

I have 2000 songs to go till I can reconnect my iPod to my PC. NEW MUSIC HERE I COME!

Crappy Blue Ears!
January 1, 2009 9:13 AM

It's been a while since I did this, but I thought I'd start out the year by posting the funny searches from last month:
Stargate Nude - I wasn't aware the Stargate was supposed to be clothed ...
love ironing naked - Don't we all
medusa cucumber dangerous - random words, or perhaps a warning?
primary school girsl with big tits - generally tits don't get too big before high school
whores in morphett vale - just step out your front door and you'll find what you're looking for
burkes backyard irishmen shoes - there is no retort for this
aunties naked image - whose auntie are you after exactly?
vicki meteor stripper - just what did you get up to in Sydney?

I bet you're on the edge of your seat wondering whether I got through my iPod before the end of the year. You're not? I see ... Well I didn't make it, I don't think I would have even without forgetting it a few times. I'm up to song 5382 or 7999, so we're getting there. I reckon by the end of January I should be good. Perhaps by then I'll be finished my album art project too, currently I'm about a quarter of the way through, but given that Wikipedia is such an unwieldy behemoth, it's taking longer than expected.

2008 was a pretty big year for me, a lot happened. I moved out, bought a massive TV and a super comfy couch, I made some new friends, got ahead at work, I won a photography competition, I completely skipped out on Christmas and I went to bed at 10:30 on New Years Eve. I might post something more about the year that was at a later stage, for now though, I have one last message for everyone ... WAKE THE FUCK UP!
