I lost track of what day it was, freaked me out when I looked at my clock today and saw it was Friday. I've been on leave for a whole week now and I've done ... well not a lot.
I've continued watching so you think you can dance and as expected, they continued to pull music from Triple J's Hottest 100. There are lots of dancers who scare me ... LOTS. How ever, no one scares me quite as much as The Bass. I did how ever like the moment between her and a n OVERLY gay dancer where she didn't quite get that he was giving her shit, it was the best. I think what I find most scary is the sob stories, there was this one girl who was having a whinge because she weighed nearly 90 kgs when she was 17 WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Boo frickety hoo!
Also, I think I've picked the winner already, just now. His name is Omar and he lived on the street for a few years. My money is on him.

So today, we got our collective asses in to gear and headed on down to the beach with a detour past the tackle shop to pick up some extra gear and got our snorkel on. It was awesome, I was surrounded by fish, they were schooling around me and we saw a star fish and a giant sponge thing that was like a billion tiny squishy dicks.
Then there was a fight, it was a bunch of year 7s or 8s or something, one kid got his face smashed up by another and then someone called the cops and the kids went out on to the jetty, real smart, get yourself in to a position with ONE exit. So we swam around for a few hours, it was nice. Now we're planning on taking a trip to rapid bay where apparently we might be able to see leafy sea dragons. I need to get a new mask though because the one I was using today leaks pretty much constantly and I had to keep purging.
I'd love to take some underwater photos, but that's not going to happen.

kirsco @thegrates: Thanks Patience, for the napkins under the hat idea at the Adelaide BDO last week, it worked a treat! You guys were amazing!

I have no other words for this:
Now, about the music they used in most of the show ... did they just go to the Triple J hot 100 and pick every second song and whack it in? Because that's what it seemed like to me. I'm just about to watch the second episode now, let's see if it's the same.
As a final note in this first episode, how is wasted by Angus and Julia Stone an appropriate song for a brother and sister dance team whose parents just want them to study. They let one through and not the other. Well done retards.

Oh god it was so hot!! I had the best time, we pretty much spent the whole day wet, we slathered ourselves in sunscreen and managed to stave off sunburn and heat stroke. People fainted, people moshed and people drank .. IT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!! We saw The Grates early on, they were so freakin good and we were about 3 people from the front, patience was dressed as a toy soldier and man does she have s bunch of energy. She's a hilarious dancer, it was totally worth the 140 for the ticket just to see the grates.
Here's a picture of me and Adam in the mosh for the Grates just before it started:

Don't you just love my hat? It wasn't until later that I realised I'd been wearing a hat with flowers on it! Oh well, it stopped me from getting burnt on my head so that's all I care about!
Here's a shot of the crowd for Pendulum:

And here's Adam just before I dunked him:

Afterwards we went to the beach at midnight, it was awesome! After being so wet and dirty all day it was refreshing to get in the ocean. Also, I went the whole day without peeing! Hooray for sweat vs liquid intake!
Now, on the topic of music, here are my two favourite songs for this year:
I particularly like Dog Days Are Over by Florence and the Machine, it was on the radio as I was leaving work on Thursday arvo. I'm not going back till March =OD
